Blue Pigment

Iris reticulata 'Harmony'
"Nothing great is of rapid achievement, it must be remembered, and "to make a garden", wrote a Persian poet, is to paint a living picture with the pigments of the Almighty." (Mary Hampden in Every Woman's Flower Garden: How to Make and Keep It Beautiful, 1915)

These are little beauties. A colorful dollop in the paintbox of your garden.

Harmony is my favourite iris reticulata - mine have finished now so it is lovely to be able to enjoy yours. A great quote as well - it is easy to want to rush a garden, but the best gardens take many years of hard work.

Always the first to arrive at my house, and why not? If I was as beautiful as these, I'd be anxious to visit too.
