Garden Fairies………………………………Assorted Garden Fairies
Granny Gus McGarden..................................The garden fairy who tends the vegetable garden
TIME: Early Spring
SETTING: A garden
(We see some garden fairies huddled around the compost bins in the vegetable garden)
GARDEN FAIRY 1(Pointing at a book on the ground)
What's that? Is that a book? Who left a book by the compost bins?
GARDEN FAIRY 2 (Standing beside GARDEN FAIRY 1)
It is a book! It says Potted and Pruned: Living a Gardening Life. I wonder what it is about?
GARDEN FAIRY 1
I bet it's about gardeners! Let's open it!
(Light fades and the scene switches to semi-circle of garden fairies looking at Granny Gus McGarden as she reads from the book.)
(Garden fairies are whispering to each other as Granny reads.)
The elephant in you awakens. (Granny pauses and looks up) Elephants? What do elephants have to do with gardening?
(As the light fades, the garden fairies begin talking excitedly amongst themselves and and ask granny to skip to the part about the garden fairies.)
(The lights come up and the garden fairies are still sitting in a semi-circle.)
Well, I don't see much in here about garden fairies. I do see that Dr. Hortfreud is mentioned once. Oh wait, here's an obscure reference to garden fairies.
(The light fades again as the garden fairies lean over Granny's shoulder to see the obscure reference to them.)
(The lights come back up and we see many garden fairies nodding off as Granny comes to the end of the book.)
Hold on, there seems to be something about gardening secrets in the acknowledgement. Oh yes, there are secrets hidden in the book!
(The garden fairies all jump and rush up to Granny to see the secrets in the book.)
