Of course, the goldenrod in my garden is wild kind that does grow along the roadsides, but I still think it's pretty in the fall. Your "shortii" looks like a real winner; the mass planting of it at the zoo is beautiful!Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01384059342847120951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488599.post-86982986887633106942012-08-22T19:12:46.049-04:002012-08-22T19:12:46.049-04:00Goldenrod (Tall goldenrod, I think) surrounds our ...Goldenrod (Tall goldenrod, I think) surrounds our woodland home where the woods meets the yard. It is there naturally with lots of White Snakeroot. I love it when both are in bloom during the waning days of summer and into fall--it is very cheery looking and feeling. The colorful blooms are much appreciated after a long hot summer of just quiet peaceful green.Heidi/ IN Woodland Gardenernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488599.post-69764541131699358452012-08-22T14:27:04.706-04:002012-08-22T14:27:04.706-04:00I am planning on planting some goldenrod in my gar...I am planning on planting some goldenrod in my garden this year on the sole reason that voles don't like them! (At least the two unnamed species I have.)

And of course it grew in my Mum's garden, so I have to have it. One of my species comes from her, whereas the other was there when we took over the garden and is the type that grows wild (Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
