Muscari, or grape hyacinth, throws up leaves in the fall. They look grassy, but you will find them. I use them to outline bulb plantings then in the fall when I am looking for a bare spot to plant and see the ring of muscari leaves, I look elsewhere.donnawilliamson2002@earthlink.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488599.post-13252908336553881542010-11-04T15:22:05.705-04:002010-11-04T15:22:05.705-04:00Momma said there would be days like this.Momma said there would be days like this.Darlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09976608531478457839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488599.post-45513103018295406842010-11-04T12:55:20.776-04:002010-11-04T12:55:20.776-04:00Unless I'm planting huge quantities, I plant b...Unless I'm planting huge quantities, I plant bulbs in plastic pots or flats from the nursery. When they're blooming I spot them around the garden where a little color is needed. When they finish blooming, I plant them right where they are. The garden looks so different in the fall and spring. I have trouble figuring out where to put them then. In the spring it's obvious.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488599.post-75646748090997576902010-11-04T11:43:24.115-04:002010-11-04T11:43:24.115-04:00There are days when we share veggies with pests an...There are days when we share veggies with pests and we never feel bad about it. ~ bangchikBangchik and Kakdahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12539360678677230463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488599.post-13034026674934159472010-11-04T10:29:02.223-04:002010-11-04T10:29:02.223-04:00Thankfully those days are indeed few and far betwe...Thankfully those days are indeed few and far between. I dug up a few bulbs accidentally, too; we'll have some surprises come spring, won't we?Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01384059342847120951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488599.post-67902592673391179522010-11-04T08:24:27.180-04:002010-11-04T08:24:27.180-04:00thank you for the blessing. As the originator of Bloom Day, you of course, know her devotion to having something in bloom all year long, but as you mention today, she had many other thoughts, opinions and information to share.Commonweederhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10913336590036045901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488599.post-51966526550425546212010-11-04T08:04:33.682-04:002010-11-04T08:04:33.682-04:00Ah -- the trials of gardening. Bad days can be like that. You can choose to dwell on the bad or pull up your bootstraps and find the good. It's always there, just have to look a little harder for it. It is most annoying to dig up bulbs when you are planting new bulbs. I did that this fall and it is even more annoying when the ground is so darned hard and it is difficult to replant them. It is time to sit back and watch those leaves drift down to the ground.Lisa at Greenbowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07743973292900758183noreply@blogger.com
