Blue Pigment

Iris reticulata 'Harmony'
"Nothing great is of rapid achievement, it must be remembered, and "to make a garden", wrote a Persian poet, is to paint a living picture with the pigments of the Almighty." (Mary Hampden in Every Woman's Flower Garden: How to Make and Keep It Beautiful, 1915)

  4. Harmony is my favourite iris reticulata - mine have finished now so it is lovely to be able to enjoy yours. A great quote as well - it is easy to want to rush a garden, but the best gardens take many years of hard work.

  7. Always the first to arrive at my house, and why not? If I was as beautiful as these, I'd be anxious to visit too.

Comments are to a blog what flowers are to a garden. Sow your thoughts here and may all your comments multiply as blooms in your garden.

Though there is never enough time to respond to each comment individually these days, please know that I do read and love each one and will try to reciprocate on your blog.

By the way, if you are leaving a comment just so you can include a link to your business site, the garden fairies will find it and compost it!
