Dear Reader,
I have become a time traveler. I don't know, yet, how I accomplished time travel, but I know in the last several months I have traveled through time on at least three different occasions.
And I have taken pictures each time as evidence.
The first picture looks like pansies planted in containers on my front porch. And that is what it is a picture of. But it is evidence of my time travel because I took the picture on February 20th, not March 20th.
How can I have pansies on my front porch in February on a day with a high temperature of 76º Fahrenheit? How could I even find pansies for sale around here in February?
The answer is I did it through time travel. I traveled forward to March, bought and planted the pansies, and then returned to February.
On that day when I traveled forward to spring, my goodness, the future looked bright and sunny, and the spring seemed oh so early and promising.
Then on the weekend of March 24th-25th, I traveled back to January.
I can assure you that this is not the kind of time travel a gardener likes, unless, of course, the gardener is behind on sowing her seeds indoors for tomatoes and peppers. Then traveling back to winter seems like it is an okay thing because it provides the sense of more time until spring. Though, I am not sure if that is a good thing.
Finally, the other day the daffodils were blooming and it seemed like my time traveling days were over. And I hadn't even figured out exactly how I was doing it!
Then, oops, I woke up this morning and realized I had traveled back in time again, this time to what appears to be February.
I am stuck now in February with snow still spitting around out there and temperatures hovering around freezing.
I hope I can figure out how to travel back to the current date of April 16th in the next few days.
Once I do figure out how I am doing this time travel, of course, I'll freely share the secret with everyone because I have a feeling I am not the only one bouncing back and forth between February and April. It's maddening, confusing, and just not right.
We must work together to figure this time travel out, then determine out how to stop doing it and bury the secret of how we did it forever.
I hope you agree and will join me in this effort.
With a shared love of gardening,
Carol
