Garden Fairies Report, Once Again

Garden fairies here, once again.

We are garden fairies and we do not like to post so soon after we just posted, but we have something we have to report because it is nothing short of a miracle.

Or the good work of one Granny 'Gus' McGarden, one of our oldest garden fairies who reigns over the Vegetable Garden Cathedral.

We garden fairies reported the other day that we did not think the crabapple tree was going to bloom because the buds got frozen and this meant less new clothes for us garden fairies.

We were all boo-hoo and lamenting, in a justifiable manner.

Well, Granny 'Gus' McGarden didn't like the sounds of all that so she made a rare trip away from the Vegetable Garden Cathedral all the way to the front garden to see for herself.

And then she made the crabapple tree bloom.

We don't know how she did it, and there are some rumblings that it isn't as pretty as some years, but we are not letting Granny hear that kind of talk.

It's a spring miracle!

There are blooms aplenty and that means lots of petals.

No one knows how Granny did it, not even Seedy and Soddy who were right there when she did whatever it was she did to get the crabapple to bloom.

Oh, and while she was out and about Granny also took advantage of the opportunity to remind us that crabapples weren't the only blooms around this garden.

The serviceberries have been blooming.

And in the last day or so the pearl bush has started to bloom.

Then, her work done, Granny went back to the Vegetable Garden Cathedral.

She was quite pleased to see that in her absence, Carol did some actual weeding in the veg garden. She has lots more to do but the garden is looking considerably better than it did a few days ago.

I think the Beach Boys wrote a song about this ... "Go, Granny, go, Granny, go Granny, go!"

Just shows what an (ahem) Older Fairy can do when she puts her mind to it. It might take a little longer but the result is spectacular.
